We wanted to show off a little, that's basically all there is to it. The brief was to build a hot fixie, no budget, no restrictions at all (ok so some fashion restrictions). Here's what we came up with...
We started with a look at the frames we had in store ready for a build. At first Dave wanted to build up a Cinelli Vigorelli track machine, ready to hit the boards. But then by chance, our long awaited Cinelli Mash stem and bullhorn bars arrived and the focus shifted the the 55cm Cinelli Mash Histogram frame hanging from the roof.
Once the decision was made things started moving pretty quickly. With the cockpit sorted we started to consider wheels and tyres. We love Velocity rims and hubs, so to go with the frame colours we chose a set of black B43 rims laced with silver sapim spokes to silver sealed track hubs. Maxxis Refuse tyres round out the package for great rolling and puncture resistant riding. We even managed to source a 700x28C for the rear wheel for a little extra comfort.
Since we weren't worrying about the cost, Dura Ace track cranks were paired with a Gebhardt 47t track ring and a 17t cog slung together with a Stolen brand Shackle black half link chain.
We had a San Marco Concor saddle in a blue that perfectly matched the blue in the frame as well as the overall theme of the bike. Good thing we aren't worring about the build price!
So that's it, our 'never-mind-the-consequences' Cinelli Mash Histogram. Best part is....its for sale, give us a call at the shop or drop in and we'll let you know how much you'll need.
