Niner Bikes springs the RIP 9 RDO on an unsuspecting public.

Wow! Is this going to be the best looking bike of 2013? Someone's going to have to pull something outa the hat to beat the RIP 9 RDO from Niner Bikes. As with the Jet 9 range the RDO version of the RIP 9 gets more travel that its alloy namesake. With 125mm of CVA suspension Niner call this bike their Quiver Killer. If ever there was 'one bike to rule them all' then this may be it.

The RIP 9 RDO (race day optimised) takes it's design cues from the JET 9 RDO but is a little less 'swoopy'. It is designed to accept 120mm-140mm suspension forks with a tapered steerer (the colour matched Rock Shox fork is a 130mm) and has removable ISCG mounts for a chain guide if that's what floats your boat. There is also a 142x12 rear axle to keep things 'up to date'.
Long travel cross country 29ers are going to be one of the growth segments in mountainbiking for 2013. Bikes such as the Specialized Stumpjumper FSR and Rocky Mountain Instinct are joining the RIP 9 RDO to forge a place in the market for the aggressive XC rider looking for an enduro race bike as well as a sled that gets them to the bottom before their mates on the weekend.

The RIP 9 RDO wont be available until late March / early April 2013 and pricing has yet to be released for Australia. Stay tuned for more info as it comes to hand.
